Yesterday we had to say goodbye to another one of our chicken friends. Unfortunately earlier this week we discovered that Nala was actually a rooster. I have to say at least this time the chicken tasted a lot better or at least had more meat on it's bones. However, Jason and I were talking about how we were surprised the meat was so tough. This probably had to due with the fact of the age of the chicken and the fact that he was free range (he got a million times more exercise than the chickens you get in the store). At least he had a good life and maybe this will get the other two to start laying eggs finally!

Yesterday we also (of course!) went to Central Market and Aspen tried out sitting in the carriage instead of hanging out in the car seat. She was having a great time and would have made it through the entire trip if we didn't get stuck at the deli counter. Does anybody else have this issue in every grocery store...what's the deal deli people, get it together!! I think she was just getting hungry and she didn't even fuss that much, but just was getting bored with the activity. Hopefully she continues to love the grocery store as much as her parents do as she gets older.

That is too bad about the rooster.
Grocery shopping is such fun. I'm looking forward to Jessica getting as big as Aspen.
Wow grocery shopping I can't believe how big she's getting. Pretty soon she'll be pushing the cart. Jason sorry but Aspen looks like Jewels when she was a baby. She's a cutie.
I love grocery shopping with Cameron too. Now he's old enough to ride in the carts that have the cars attached to them. He loves "driving" the cart.
"Jewels"? Who dat?
By the way, I wonder about the Blog writer saying "At least he had a good life". I don't think it's necessary to attribute a memorial summation on an animal's life experience just at the same moment when you are licking your chops from eating it.
